Chiropractic Care Recognized in Alberta’s New Care-First Auto Insurance Model
March 24th, 2025 News Release
March 24th, 2025 marked a significant milestone for Alberta’s chiropractic profession.
Our Board Chair, Dr. Jacqueline Boyd, joined the Honourable Nate Horner, President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Finance, at a press conference to speak on the province’s transition to a new care-first automobile insurance system. This shift represents a meaningful advancement in how Albertans injured in motor-vehicle accidents will access care, and highlights the essential role chiropractors play in their recovery.
As Dr. Boyd emphasized, a care-first model puts patients at the centre of the system, ensuring timely access to treatment that supports better health outcomes, lowers long-term healthcare costs, and improves the overall efficiency of injury care in Alberta. Chiropractors are key providers in this process, offering hands-on, evidence-informed care that helps individuals return to work and daily life sooner.
By participating in high-level policy discussions such as March 24th, 2025's, announcement, the Chiropractic Association of Alberta continues to advocate for the profession and its integral place within Alberta’s broader healthcare system.
We encourage our members and the public to learn more about this important initiative and its potential impact on patient care and recovery. Click here for news release.
