Insurance

In circumstances such as a motor vehicle accident, or workplace injury, chiropractic care may be included in your health insurance coverage.  Extended health care insurance/benefits provided through employers or individual coverage, like Alberta Blue Cross, usually cover most, if not all costs, for chiropractic treatments (to an annual maximum). Reach out to your employer/insurance provider to find out more about your coverage.

Parking Placards

As of February 1, 2017, chiropractors registered in Alberta have been authorized to approve application forms for parking placards for persons with disabilities.

The Chiropractic Association of Alberta is clear that this authorization carries with it the responsibility for ensuring the parking placards are provided only to those Albertans who have clearly met the disability criteria and are legitimately eligible to receive a placard. All members are asked to review the criteria and remain committed to ensuring the appropriate execution of this authority.

Patients can find out how to apply for parking placards on the Service Alberta website here.

Information on how authorized health-care professionals approve patients’ parking placard applications can be found here.
