Dr. William Hilsabeck finds parallels in chiro care and puzzle-solving

In this blog series, we recognize CAA 25-year long service award recipient, Dr. William Hilsabeck. Learn more about him and the words of wisdom he has to offer.

If Dr. William Hilsabeck were not a chiropractor, he would consider being an engineer because he likes to understand how things work and he enjoys puzzle-solving. He says chiropractic care is a good fit for him, as his patients often come in with a problem that is a puzzle to solve.

Graduating from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon in 1996, Dr. Hilsabeck is a sole practitioner at Lacombe Chiropractic and Massage in Lacombe, Alberta. His 25-years in practice has focused on encouraging and helping his patients reach their bodies’ full potential.

What is your hope for the future of chiropractic care?

That the profession continues to expand and becomes the forefront in the minds of people when they're seeking care.

Do you have a favorite inspirational quote that you live by?

One by Neil T. Anderson: Nobody can sincerely help another without helping themselves in the process. That is why it is more blessed to give than to receive.

If you could do a 30-minute presentation on anything, what would the topic be?

The benefits of movement. It would include exercise and stretching and the massive impact it can have, especially later in life.’

What career advice would you offer students entering or advancing their career in chiropractic care?

In your practice just be really authentic and honest with your patients and they will trust you.

If you had an opportunity to have dinner or with someone either famous, dead or alive, who would that be?

Jesus Christ is someone who I'd like to talk to.

How do you unwind after a long day working?

I spend time with my family, go for long walks and I listen to podcasts.
