Dr. Dean Allan is a recipient of the 2024 Chiropractic Association of Alberta Changemaker Award. This award recognizes innovative chiropractors who are driving the profession to new heights and contributing to the profession’s integral work within primary healthcare. Here is a short profile on Dr. Allan to spotlight his actions as a changemaker.

Dr. Dean Allan has been practicing chiropractic care in Alberta for 22 years, but it is his contributions to his community that truly make him stand out as a changemaker.

Elected to the Carstairs town council in 2010, he has served as the deputy mayor since 2021.

He has been recognized as the best chiropractor in the area since 2015 and was named citizen of the year for the past two years. In 2024, he won the Didsbury/Carstairs region Reader’s Choice Award for the Best Chiropractic/Massage/ Physiotherapy Clinic (gold award) and Best Holistic Health Care (silver award).

Dr. Allan's community involvement is extensive. He helped raise funds for families affected by last year's tornado, sponsors several sports teams, and volunteers as a skate sharpener for local children. Best known for his vintage 1951 red Mercury truck, patients know his clinic is open for business when they see it parked outside.

In his multi-disciplinary clinic, he offers a range of services, including massage therapy, acupuncture and psychology services, and it is home to an AED for the Main Street area.

Dr. Allan’s practice focuses on family wellness chiropractic care, working with people in all phases of health expression — acute, chronic and those pursuing maximum health optimization. For Dr. Allan, wellness means working with individuals at every stage of their health journey, ensuring they achieve their highest potential.

Congratulations, Dr. Dean Allan!
