We are writing you today regarding the ACAC response to COVID-19.
First and foremost, we want to acknowledge that the rapidly changing environment related to COVID-19 is highly unsettling for all of us. These are extraordinary times, and as both your Council and your colleagues, we are experiencing the same concerns for our loved ones, practices and patients as you are. While it is essential that we all remember that this situation will eventually pass, it is also more important than ever that we remain calm in our response and that we lean on each other for support in the coming days, weeks, and months.
As this is a rapidly changing environment, the ACAC will be sending a much higher volume of communications to members than is typical. The goal is to keep members informed and up to date on important developments in a timely manner. Please read these messages, as they will include important information that may need to be acted upon quickly. The ACAC is working on expanding resources on the website as well. More information will be available early next week.
Council and ACAC staff are also working quickly to gather information for members to utilize through this pandemic. This work includes clearly identifying what members need to do in the event of an exposure for both patients and staff, what federal and provincial programs will do to support small businesses and how to manage renewal. We freely admit we don’t yet know all of the questions, much less all of the answers. We want to get this information correct the first time, so this will be an evolving process.
